On March 21, Crusader Fence Co. proudly hosted “Shielded Together,” our sixth annual Safety Day. The company-wide event is dedicated to enhancing safety knowledge, fostering community, and reinforcing our collective commitment to a secure work environment.
For one impactful day, our entire team of over 100 employees — from installers and yard specialists to office staff and estimators — paused their regular duties to focus solely on safety training. This mandatory event underscores our belief that safety is not just a protocol, but an essential value that unites us.
We were honored to welcome two-time Olympian Cliff Meidl as our keynote speaker. Cliff’s compelling journey from a construction accident survivor to celebrated athlete resonated deeply with our staff. Not only was his story of resilience inspiring, his experiences emphasized the critical importance of safety awareness and protocols.
The event also featured a series of interactive sessions designed to address various aspects of workplace safety:
- Strategies to recognize and prevent heat-related illnesses, ensuring our team remains vigilant in all working conditions.
- Best practices for tool safety, reinforcing proper usage and maintenance to prevent accidents.
- Ladder safety protocols and fall protection measures, critical for preventing workplace injuries.
- Safe excavation practices to avoid underground hazards.
Beyond training, “Shielded Together” aimed to strengthen our internal community. Team-building activities encouraged collaboration and communication, reinforcing a supportive environment where safety is everyone’s responsibility. Our event concluded with a raffle and recognition awards, celebrating individuals who exemplify our core values and safety culture.
