Crusader Fence Partners with Capital College & Career Academy to Inspire the Next Generation

Job Shadow Program Paves the Way for Future Construction Professionals

Jan 6, 2025

At Crusader Fence, we believe in more than just building fences. We believe in building up our community. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Capital College & Career Academy (CCCA), giving high school students hands-on opportunities to explore careers in construction while gaining skills to succeed in the real world.

We welcomed four CCCA students into every aspect of the day-to-day world of Crusader Fence through an immersive job shadow program that began in February 2024. These future tradespeople explored every part of our operations, including the yard, the shop, the office, and even a live fence installation at our Gold Valley Drive location. Seeing their enthusiasm and curiosity was truly rewarding.

Our commitment didn’t stop there. Crusader brought the experience to CCCA’s campus, where students worked side by side with our team to learn welding techniques. Watching them cut and join pipes for the first time was a proud moment for everyone involved. These are experiences that instill confidence and excitement about the possibilities ahead.

Using footage shot onsite at Crusader Fence, CCCA created The Importance of Job Shadowing, a video outlining the school’s mission of opening the door for students to enter into the construction field. The construction field is experiencing increased rates of retirement, while research shows many younger people are opting out of college after high school, creating a unique opportunity to introduce the next generation of workers to the world of construction.

As the construction industry faces a growing demand for skilled workers, partnerships like this are vital. Together with CCCA, we’re helping students take their first steps toward fulfilling, impactful careers while addressing critical workforce needs in our community.

At Crusader Fence, we’re honored to play a role in shaping the next generation. Supporting our community and investing in its future is what drives us every day.

Together, we’re making a difference!
