Comprehensive Fencing and Gate Systems for Landmark Campus
The construction of Emerald High School represents a major milestone for the Dublin Unified School District as its first new high school in over 50 years and a long-anticipated solution to the area’s rapidly growing student population. Designed to serve up to 2,500 students, the campus sits on 23 acres in the rapidly growing city of Dublin, California, where student enrollment nearly doubled between 2010 and 2020.
The project represents a significant investment in educational infrastructure, funded through a combination of local and state bond measures. The campus includes a two-story classroom tower, a 32,000-square-foot gymnasium, a modern student union, and a full suite of athletic facilities built to serve both students and the larger community for decades to come.
Crusader Fence was brought in to provide comprehensive perimeter security for the new school, tailored to the operational demands and long-term durability required for a campus of this scale. Our team installed more than 3,250 linear feet of chain link fencing and 3,500 linear feet of iron fencing to secure campus perimeters, high-traffic walkways, and additional key areas, such as the football stadium, tennis courts and other athletic facilities.

The project also required about 40 gates, including heavy-duty chain link double-slide and swing gates, reinforced steel swing barrier gates, and pedestrian gates equipped with panic hardware for emergency egress. At the main entrance, two HySecurity SlideDriver™ gate operators were installed for scheduled access control aligned with school hours. These high-performance operators are equipped with UL 325-compliant safety features and emergency override capabilities for first responders.
Custom fabricated elements were integrated throughout the campus, including engineered fence plates for secure attachment to walls and buildings, as well as downspout modifications to manage roof drainage effectively.
This project underscores Crusader Fence’s ability to deliver site-specific perimeter solutions at scale that support both security and daily usability. As the student body continues to grow, these systems will help ensure a safe, well-functioning environment for students, staff, and the greater Dublin community.
